Two sobriety checkpoints will be held tonight by the Franklin County DUI Task Force in Perry Township.
The first location will be set up at on Riverside Drive, just north of Bethel Road (Click here for Map View) and a second location will be organized on Sawmill Road north of Interstate 270 (Click here for Map View).
The checkpoints will run between 7:30 p.m. until midnight.
Checkpoints sometimes don’t result in any OVI arrests but law enforcement officials say the effort is more about creating public awareness and preventing drunken driving.
“The Task Force wants to impress upon those consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements,” said Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jay Eden in a released statement.
More than 20 organizations - mainly law enforcement agencies - are part of the Task Force.
