Columbus police announced that they'll conduct two DUI checkpoints tonight.

The first is at the intersection of E. 11th Avenue and Clara Avenue (Click for Map View) in South Linden, near I-71. This checkpoint will be in place between 9 and 11 p.m.

The second checkpoint is in North Linden at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Melrose Avenue (Click for Map View). It will be active from 1 to 3 a.m. Saturday.

In a news release, police cited a high rate of accidents involving impaired drivers near both intersections as reasons for why they were chosen.

Drug-recognition officers will also be at each checkpoint to check for any drug-impaired drivers.
