The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Franklin County DUI Task Force are planning sobriety checkpoints Friday night.

The Franklin County DUI Task Force will be operating a sobriety checkpoint tonight in the area of Cleveland Avenue and Wallcrest Boulevard (Click location for Map View) in the City of Columbus. Hours of Operation: 9:00pm until approximately 1:30am.

The Portsmouth post is planning a checkpoint from 7pm to 10pm on US 52 near Mabert Road in Portsmouth.

The Marion post will be conducting a checkpoint on Delaware Avenue south of Vernon Heights boulevard in the city of Marion from 9pm to 11pm.

The Delaware post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is planning a checkpoint on US 23, between 9pm and 12am in Delaware County.

The Athens post is planning a checkpoint in Athens County from 7pm to 11pm on state Route 56.

In Logan County, the OSHP along with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a checkpoint on South Main Street in Bellefontaine, between 8pm and 12am.

Sobriety checkpoints are legal in Ohio as long as public notice is given that the checkpoint will be established. Even though the location is announced in advance, the checkpoints are often held in conjunction with less-visible types of enforcement nearby.
