Franklin County's DUI task force will hold two sobriety checkpoints Friday to deter drunken driving.
The two checkpoints will be located at the intersections of Georgesville Road and U.S. Route 40 and Georgesville Road and Shoppers Lane on Columbus' West Side from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., the task force said in a news release.
"The Task Force wants to impress upon those who will be consuming alcohol to plan for a designated driver or make other arrangements," the task force wrote in the release.
The DUI Task Force is a collaboration between several local and state police agencies, Columbus Public Health, and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
